Tammy and I were greatly saddened to hear of Jo’s passing. We will remember her as a wonderful friend. Some highlights stand out from the years that I knew her. She was so kind, cooking a British meal when I was a student in Halifax. We were so proud of her when she launched her first book in Ottawa. As a docent for the museum in Victoria, she took time to give me a personal tour. In Whitby, we indulged our whimsy by dropping coins into arcade games before stopping for fish & chips at Magpie's. And most recently in Dawlish, we enjoyed ice cream by the sea with her and Ken. We are consoled only in knowing that, for so long as we can still hear her voice when we read her books, she will never be gone from our lives. Thom and Tammy Whalen
